Before Mary Kay, I practiced Physical Therapy, completed a PhD in Exercise Science, and held faculty appointments at four Midwest universities. I spent one year as a guest researcher at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. My first career as a clinician, professor and researcher for 31 years included being board certified as a pediatric clinical specialist, publishing scientific papers, book chapters, and lecturing nationally and internationally.
In April of 2001, I began my Mary Kay career being recruited by my consultant who was the mother of a former student. At the time, I was a full professor of Physical Therapy and my intention was simply to help my consultant become a director and to save money on products. Three months later, after an impromptu MK show with a few women from work who asked to try the products, I realized that girl time and selling $280 was fun. I asked, “why would I not do this again; it’s fun and I made money?” I began attending weekly success events to learn more and fell in love with the friendships, philosophy, and faith-first focus of Mary Kay. A year later I attended Career Conference and Seminar where dreams were born to grow my Mary Kay career. However, letting go of a long-standing health and education career did not come easy. God’s nudging was persistent and six years later, January 2007, I submitted my resignation from a tenured full professor position. Effective July 1, I moved full time to focus on my MK career. I debuted as an Independent Sales Director May 1, 2007– two months before leaving my academic position.
As a Mary Kay Sales Director, I have earned four cars, most recently the limited edition BMW! I have been in the National Queens Court of Sales four times and has regularly been in the Deb Pike National Area top 10 in Sales, Sharing, and Unit production. My goal is to be in the company’s Court of Sharing and to be Queen of that Court. I love building a nationwide unit and touching lives of customers and women ready to lead or simply supplement their family income. My dreams continue because in Mary Kay dreaming is beautiful and in color. I sees a unit and national area that spans the globe and pray God gives me the skills, direction and strength to develop my own and the leadership skills of many women. Helping women use their full potential feels like the best job ever.
My unit mission is “to enrich women’s lives and strengthen families”. I love working daily in faith and seeing what is possible when we do our work and leave the rest to God. I feel blessed with a supportive and loving husband.
My motto is to LIVE fully. Love, Inspire, Vision a Victory, and be Enthusiastic.
